Last weekend I spoke to a room full of teenage boys about relationships, and something I said stuck with my husband the whole drive home. He couldn't stop thinking about it, and neither could I. The line was simple: we can't forget what we don't know. But that raises a bigger question. How do you actually know if you know something, like really know it?

Turns out there are real ways to test what you know, and even more ways to make sure it actually sticks. Some of these I've used for years without knowing they had names. One I'd genuinely never heard of until I started digging into this. If you want what matters to you to actually stay with you instead of just passing through, this one's worth nine minutes.

Episode Highlights

  • A quick way to test whether you actually know something or just think you do
  • An unusual memory trick tied to walking through your own house
  • Why memorizing something once almost never makes it stick
